Amateur Straight Guys Re-Opens After Alliance with Active Duty
I’m excited to share the big news with you that the Amateur Straight Guys website reopened last Friday in full-functioning beta mode, thanks in large part to their partnership with Active Duty’s Dink Flamingo. In celebration of this exciting alliance, current Active Duty members and those that join by May 10th will get free complimentary access to Amateur Straight Guys as part of their Active Duty membership! Likewise, members who sign up for Amateur Straight Guys by May 10th will be given limited free access to Active Duty and their associated sites like Dirty Bird Pictures, My Straight Buddy, and XXX Amateur Hour. Hurry though, as this bonus free access only lasts until June 10, 2010, long enough to really get a feel for the great content of the other site.
Speaking of content, there’s a mountain of super content available at ASG already, including close to 250 downloadable videos just waiting for you to check out. As they prepare for the hard launch in May, they’ll be adding more videos all the time. So, go over there and get a head start on climbing this mountain of movies and watch as the final version of ASG evolves over the next few weeks. There are lots of great things just waiting for you over there including “The Wall” which is the message boards where you can get in on the conversation and voice your opinions.
Four months after the site closed its doors, decade old website Amateur Straight Guys reopened in what the owners refer to as the website’s “beta test” to a very successful first weekend. “In the course of the last two to three weeks I have been overwhelmed with messages of support from former members and fans of ASG who have expressed to me how much they missed the site and how happy they are of the news of our imminent return.” said Doug De Long founder and partner in the site’s new holding company: Double D Holdings LLC.
The name is significant in that it represents- the names of the old and new owners of Amateur Straight Guys being Doug De Long and Dink Flamingo. Flamingo, famous for his military video exploits on his very successful website Active Duty, signed on as a partner in the venture about one month ago buying out the interests of former ASG co-owner Jay Huffhines. “I am as excited as you are about the rebirth of Amateur Straight Guys. It is a brand I have come to love and respect over the years and am very proud to now be a part of it,” said Flamingo to ASG fans in a recent blog posting.
De Long will serve as the principle Director for new Amateur Straight Guy content for the first few months. “I am pumped to be back and producing and directing again but long term we will be looking for new hosts for the site and really want to pick unknowns who have a similar passion for getting a straight guy to do ‘not so straight’ things.” said De Long.
I went to the site and saw many of my old favorite videos in a new environment as the site has been completely redesigned. Active weekly production will begin as part of the site’s 10th Anniversary Celebration on May 10th. “We wanted to officially open on a very significant milestone date, May 10th, and have double the reason to celebrate not only the website’s return but also a decade of hot content.” according to Dink Flamingo. I can hardly wait!
